12 REASONS FOR POLYGYNY #12

POLYGYNY CAN ENHANCE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

REASON # 12

Polygyny is not easy. It requires of men to forgo their lust in favor of being responsible. It requires of women to forgo their jealousy in favor of a Godly husband’s ambitions. Fighting against yourself and your own impulses so as to color within the lines requires faith and conviction. More than faith and conviction, it requires reliance on God. Most importantly, it requires that you strengthen your relationship with God so you can adequately meet the challenges of life in a principled and Godly manner.

Having multiple wives is a lot harder than simply sleeping around with hundreds of women. Were it merely for sexual pleasure and lust, no person would need to have multiple wives. In fact, a person wouldn’t need to have a single wife. The world has arrived at a place where sex is freely available for both men and women. All you need to do is go out and get a woman to borrow for a night, a week, a month or maybe a year. All a woman needs to do is announce that she’s available to have sex, and she’d have a hundred guys lined up by her door- it doesn’t even matter what she looks like. That is the world we built with our own hands, through overturning patriarchy.

Polygyny, helps us to fix that world. It makes it so that less woman are free to run around, and less men who are unwilling to commit will find women to simply pump and dump. It reorients society towards morals and purity, which enhances everyone’s relationship with God. God loves purity. Purity is achieved when one obeys His laws, and those laws are reasonable. God didn’t expect of anyone to remain celibate permanently. He made it possible for people to have mates while optimizing that arrangement through being responsible. In turn, the difficulties you experience while doing what is right elevates you and brings you nearer to God, as opposed to the difficulties your experience when doing wrong! In other words, you can suffer for something good, pure, wholesome, and worthwhile, or you can suffer because of evil.

Most women say they wouldn’t be able to handle the jealousy. Why is that? Well, because that jealousy isn’t pure jealousy, it ego infested jealousy. Polygyny crushes that ego which takes women further and further way from God, because many women themselves would like to be worshiped. In fact, women say it blatantly at times, “I want a man who worships me…” There are men who do worship women. You can hear it in their expressions, “I will do anything for her…” That’s worship. There shouldn’t be anyone you’d do anything for if it will be against what God has commanded. God wants you to say that about Himself. You should be saying, “I would do anything for God.”

Similarly, some women feel they would do anything for their husbands. They lie for him and kill for him. They’d even die for him. This type of mentality you’d almost never find in polygyny. Women in polygyny know very well that their husband isn’t always right, and that they have a duty to obey God even as AGAINST their husbands. That’s because they don’t worship their husbands. The husband isn’t her entire life; he is simply a part of it. It is very unhealthy in a marriage for people to idolize each other. People can’t constantly be on emotional rampages in life or in marriage because it is disruptive and holds everyone back. Polygyny teaches people to chill out.

Lastly, when people struggle legitimately with something that is legitimate, they can turn to God honestly and seek his help without feeling inadequate or sinful. They can be strengthened by God through tribulations that stem from the permissible, instead of being weakened by tribulations that step from the impermissible. A woman of real strength is one who can hold down her jealousy and keep it under control in the interest of her other sisters in faith who also require a husband. A man of real strength can tie down his lust in the interest of preserving the women of society and instead marry several women whom he covers and protects. Polygyny is what God has made to help order society in a way that pleases Him.
